The Opportunity

As Data Protection Officer, you are familiar with legal guidelines and corporate governance standard processes. You will operate locally while in an international environment and work closely with various teams in the organization (Risk, Compliance, Legal, Sales…).


In this role, you will be working in Stockholm, Sweden and be supporting Denmark, Finland, and Norway as well. You will report to Head of Data Protection Worldline Merchant Services.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Monitor compliance with data protection legislation.
  • Supervise enforcement of standards and regulations.
  • You assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible DP Compliance Risks.
  • Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or take care of violations of GDPR regulations, assess and proceed to investigations of potential inappropriate rules or procedures.
  • Maintain a process for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and acting on all requests/complaints concerning the organization’s privacy policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and act transformative towards the business regarding compliance by design and strive for the implementation of standard processes and methodologies across critical areas of the business.
  • Review the Art. 30 Register of Processing Activities (RoPA) as set intervals, and ensure that it is up-to-date, accurate and complete.
  • Handle Data Subject Requests in accordance with set procedures and within the specified timeline.
  • Perform or supervise the business in the performance of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Legitimate Interests Assessments (LIAs) and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs) to determine mitigating measures relevant to the risk level.
  • Provide regular data protection-related training of regulations and company procedure updates to staff. Provide advice and/or training (internal training) to the business and to the Board of Directors.
  • Maintain contacts with Supervisory Authorities and act as the point of contact on issues relating to processing of personal data, including prior consultation as specified in Art. 36 of the GDPR.


Who Are We Looking For
  • Master’s in law or equivalent level.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in privacy and data protection compliance.
  • Knowledge of the payment industry is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with an eye for detail.
  • Affinity with IT and IT-related projects and ecommerce.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Swedish, both verbally and written.
  • Results driven and persistent.
  • Multicultural mentality and flexibility, able to work in an international environment.
  • Pragmatism & hands-on approach is required.
  • Teammate and able to work autonomously.
  • Ability to think creatively and a positive attitude.
